Plenumshield
Blanket may be installed on PVC, CPVC, PB,
PE, PP, PVDF, and ABS piping and non-rated cables in
return air plenums, ducts and other areas requiring
non-combustible treatment. This lightweight high temperature
blanket is available in 24” or 48” widths
and is either faced one side or encapsulated with scrim-reinforced
aluminum foil.
Plenumshield
is applied in one layer (1/2” thick) with all
joints overlapped a minimum of one inch. The blanket
may be secured in place using either stainless steel
banding or stainless wire, which is twist-tensioned.
Plenumshield
Blanket has
been developed and tested to provide a non-combustible
barrier for combustible items located within rated return
air plenums. The results of UL 1887 and UL 910 fire tests
demonstrate that Plenumshield will provide a non-combustible
barrier that eliminates flame spread and minimizes smoke
development.
